RBI vs. the central government

It’s rather peculiar that the most often cited examples of RBI and central government disagreements belong to the 1950s, a time when RBI didn’t even have the operational freedom that it now does (to some extent).
Shouldn’t the comparisons come with more recent instances of mutual respect, a time when fiscal and monetary policies carry a balanced weight of the economy? Sometimes you wonder if the business and economy reporters are just looking for some drama.
